Cody just finished their first year of Southern Methodist University's MFA Acting Program in Dallas, TX. They hate the traffic, but enjoy hitting the thrift stores when possible!

Blood at the Root
In the Spring, Cody will be playing the role of Justin in Dominique Morisseau's Blood at the Root. The show runs April 15th, 16th, & 20th, 2023.

Mental Health First Aid Certification:
Recently, Cody became certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to provide initial help to a young person (ages 5-18) experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
SETC Convention
Cody will be attending and auditioning at the Southeastern Theatre Conference unified professional auditions in Lexington, Kentucky on March 3, as Number 498.
Fear of Shakespeare Intensive:
In January, Cody completed a 3 week-long Shakespeare Intensive, coached by Elizabeth Huffman (Artistic Director, Chain Reaction Theatre).

The interactive course consisted of 11 private two-hour-long sessions. ​
The Moving Frame Workshop @SMU:
In January, Cody participated in a week-long On-Camera workshop with Welker White, and Damian Young.
Physical Actioning Workshop @SMU:
In November, Cody will be a participant in a week-long workshop, led by Guest Artist Scott Illingworth (Co-Director of NYU-Tisch Grad Acting).

Physical Actioning builds on the vocabulary of simple action verbs to generate an entire set of practical tools from first read to performance that harnesses modern knowledge about the integration of the mind and the rest of the body. ​
Southern Methodist University:
The Seagull
Cody will be playing the role of Konstantin in Anya Reiss's version of Anton Chekov's The Seagull. The show will feature the entire MFA Acting class of 2025. The show runs October 26th through the 30th, 2022.
Graduation!
On August 6th, 2022, Cody received their BFA in Acting from The University of Alabama. They are a first generation college graduate, and just wants to say "ROLL TIDE!"

Workshop Presentation
Cody will be leading a free workshop on June 17th, 2022 apart of SDSF's annual community workshops program. The focus will be on ensemble building, but there will also be theatre games!
Marian Gallaway Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Acting
In April 2022, Cody received The Marian Gallaway Acting Award for their departmental performances in The Colored Museum and Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery during the UA Theatre & Dance 2021-2022 season.

SDPB "Othello" Interview
Cody was recently interviewed by South Dakota Public Broadcasting about their upcoming role in the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival's production of Othello.

EDIII Scholarship
Recently, Cody received an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Intimacy Initiative (EDIII) scholarship towards seven hours of training with Theatrical Intimacy Education. They will attend the May 14th Best Practices digital workshop.
Graduate School
After much consideration, Cody has committed to attending graduate school at Southern Methodist University, to pursue an MFA in Acting. They will join the program in Fall 2022, on a
full-ride/assistantship!
S.D. Shakespeare Festival's "Othello"
In Summer 2022, Cody will debut as the title role in the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival’s production of Othello. It runs June 16th through the 19th.
SETC Convention
Cody will be attending and auditioning at the Southeastern Theatre Conference unified professional auditions in Memphis, Tennessee on March 10th, as Number 72.
The Decision...
After many a auditions, Cody has been offered four full-ride graduate assistantships to earn their MFA in Acting/Performance, a spot in the National Players Tour 73 company (11 month contract), and Acting apprenticeships with Georgia Ensemble Theatre or Florida Studio Theatre in their 2022-2023 seasons (9 month contracts). Cody will decide what's next after undergrad soon!
